For those who can’t wait to get their grubby paws on the newly refreshed camera pair, good news, the shooters will go on sale for S$999 and S$3,999 respectively this August.
Following the announcement of the pair of refreshed shooters last week, Sony has announced that the new prosumer RX100 II and full-frame RX1R cameras will be available on local shores from this August.
While the RX1R did not stand out much from its predecessor, with only minor sensor tweaks — that increases susceptibility to moire in favor of sharper images –, the Sony RX100 II does offer some appreciable improvements over its highly popular ancestor model, the RX100. The highlight of which is a redesigned 1-inch, 20.2 megapixel BSI Exmor R sensor that boasts significantly better light sensitivity and low light performance. Other notable enhancements include a 3-inch articulating LCD screen, Multi Interface Shoe for wider accessory compatibility as well as Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity.
Both the RX100 II and RX1R will be available from this August for S$999 and S$3,999 respectively, same as that of their predecessor models. In addition, the original RX100 will retail at a reduced price of S$849 (UP: S$999) with effect from 1st July.
