OPPO is excited to announce the arrival of its latest camera phone, the R9s, to local shores. The latest in OPPO’s range of exciting camera-centric phones, the R9s serves as an upgrade to the R9, and sports an exclusive Sony IMX398 sensor, the all-new Dual PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus) technology, and an improved rear camera.

The OPPO R9s is set to be available for pre-order on OPPO’s retail and online stores, as well as from Lazada’s online store from 29 November 2016 to 9 December 2016, and will be ready for collection on the public launch of the phone, 10 December 2016, from OPPO’s Suntec store.

Crystal-clear photography
The OPPO R9s combines its’ predecessor’s widely popular selfie-snapping capabilities, with an improved 16 MP rear camera, which features the all-new Sony IMX398 sensor – a customized 1/2.8-inch sensor, jointly developed by OPPO and Sony. Paired with an extra-wide f/1.7 aperture, the R9s is guaranteed to capture 40 percent more light than in previous generations.

The R9s Camera offers lightning-fast focus and crystal clear images even in low light.
Thanks to its Dual PDAF technology, the rear camera offers phenomenal focusing speed and noise reduction, allowing users to snap breathtakingly clear and beautiful images at a moment’s notice. This new technology increases the area of the sensor’s pixel array by a 100 percent, when compared to standard PDAF solutions, making for lightning-fast focusing — even in low light — and producing crystal-clear images.

Say Goodbye to Unsightly Antenna Bands
The R9s continues OPPO’s commitment in bringing sophistication and functionality in its design innovations. The R9s replaces the thick white bands that traverse the backs of most phones with two sets of three ultra-fine lines, each measuring a mere 0.3mm, while still ensuring a strong signal. Dubbed the “six-string” antenna lines, the look is reminiscent of a stringed instrument, and imbues the R9s with an effortless sophistication.

The fresh look also comes paired with stronger performance than ever. The R9s is equipped to operate on six frequency ranges, dynamically choosing the best one for 4G and Wi-Fi signals. With the new design, the R9s’ body is a full 98.9% metal, with a screen-to-body ratio of 72.9 %. The R9s’ visual impact is subtle, refined and distinguished, with superb signal reception to match.

Powerful, long-lasting performance to keep users snapping away
The OPPO R9s sports a Qualcomm octa-core processor, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, and cruises seamlessly on ColorOS 3.0 (based on Android 6.0). The 64 GB of onboard storage can be expanded by an additional 256 GB, ensuring users will have plenty of room to store the crystal-clear shots they take with new Dual PDAF. Meanwhile, the R9s’ fingerprint reader gives users exceptionally fast 0.2s touch access, and intelligently refines its image of the user’s fingerprint over time.

The R9s is also backed with a 3,010 mAh battery and OPPO’s industry-leading VOOC Flash Charge technology, for peerlessly fast recharges that are low-voltage, so they’ll never tax the phone’s internals with excess heat.

With its head-turning design, powerful performance and superb all-around photography experience, the R9s is set to let users capture their lives in style!
